Linking Sequences
This is where things get really interesting. Just like in an email campaign, you can set a sequence to be triggered at ANY time after the action. Immediately, 1 minute, 1 Day, Week, Months etc… later.
By linking you can create “forks in the road”
Choice A takes you to Sequence 1
Choice B takes you to sequence 2
That means you can segment highly engage leads vs. moderately engaged. Maybe you send the guy who’s hot to trot, to an accelerated funnel and present an offer sooner. The possibilities are endless.
(Pro tip: you can also do this within sequence messages) Make sure to unsubscribe the lead from the current sequence to avoid sending two sequences at once.

Tagging
One of the keys to using messenger to its full potential is tagging. By adding a tag to a user you can segment them and sent them specific content. You can also know at a glance where they are in your sequence, how engaged they are and the answers they’ve given. That’s IF you tag everything correctly.
It’s time consuming. But you’ll want to tag almost every button/ quick reply. Or at the very least the ones that are key indicators about the person interacting with your bot.
Here’s how to apply a tag: Button or Quick Reply → Additional Actions → Add Tag → Tag Name → Enter

Pro Tip Use a tagging system. It will help you:
- Understand at a glance where the prospect is in the funnel
- See what actions they’ve taken
- See how engaged they are
- Understand what content is working well and where there are dropoffs.

Opening Conversations:
This lets a user talk to you in messenger. Even if the conversation was closed before an action of : open conversation will re-open the old thread. Huge for the handoff between Marketing and Sales or marketing and Customer Service.

Creating Growth Tools to deliver opt-in bribes
There are 2 categories of growth tools.: Those you use on your site/landing page. And those you can use in facebook or elsewhere around the web. (Though you could use a ref URL on your site)

Get people into your funnel
Explanation of all the growth tools (grouped together):
ManyChat makes it easy to get people into your Messenger funnel.
You don’t have to use the growth tools from MC. But they make it SUPER easy. You can incorporate buttons into SumoMe (for example). Or even make your own buttons use Facebook’s code.
Popups/Modals/Top Bars
Top Bar
An opt-in bar that can display at the top or bottom of your site.

Page Takeover

A popup that “slides in” from the side of the page

Standard Opt-ins: Buttons, Boxes & Pages
An opt-in bar that can display at the top or bottom of your site.

Landing Page
Many Chat will host a (somewhat configurable) landing page for you.

Check Box Button
You can configure the opt-in button text. Displays a check-box
If the user is logged into facebook it is automatically checked. If not the user must check the box to go to messenger.

Box
Same as a button but with a headline and text above

Messenger Promotion Tools
Messenger Ref URL
This can take your lead to a specific sequence.
If the person has not yet subscribed they will see the normal “Get Started Screen”

Messenger Ref URL Vs. Messenger Button
Facebook Json Ad
You can configure the opt-in button text. Displays a check-box
If the user is logged into facebook it is automatically checked. If not the user must check the box to go to messenger.

Facebook Comments
Allows you to choose a previously created a facebook post inside the linked facebook page.
When someone comments on the post or comments a trigger word of your choosing – they’ll be sent to facebook messenger
This one is tricky to setup.
You can’t display a button after sending someone to messenger from a facebook post. So you have to set up another trigger keyword to have them opt-in to your sequence.
Great for post engagement. Promoting Content. Or even sending people into your messenger funnel while you’re doing a facebook live chat
